David Young, founder of Capstone
Film by: UNO student and filmmaker Jenna Timphony
Editor’s Note: When it comes to food in New Orleans, David Young embodies the idea of an open table. He started a garden for himself, and it quickly began to feed many people in the Lower 9th Ward. Starting out with vegetables, he soon moved into bee keeping and selling raw honey in order to support Capstone (a volunteer-based organization that focuses on growing food in a community space). UNO student and filmmaker Jenna Timphony talks with David Young about his story and the passion that continues to propel his Capstone project.
